今回の記事は、2004年に開催された私の最初の個展についてです。

Fete of the Brilliant Colors – Gen Tamura’s Solo Exhibition

*After this gallery was closed in 2015, it moved to Tsunehisa in Miyazaki City as an art supply store.
香川県在住の私が初めて開催した個展の場所が宮崎県となったキッカケは、2002年に九州の若手作曲家グループ「ジークフリート」のメンバーと知り合いになったことでした。
2003年12月4日、宮崎県立芸術劇場 (現・メディキット県民文化センター) で開催された彼等の第1回演奏会で、作曲家達が選んだ5つの色彩で私はカンバスに抽象画のライブペインティングをしました。
My first solo exhibition was held in Miyazaki Prefecture while I was living in Kagawa Prefecture. It was because I became acquainted with the members of Siegfried, a group of the young composers in Kyushu in 2002.
I did a live painting at their first concert at Miyazaki Prefectural Art Theater (now Medikit Arts Center) on December 4, 2003. I spontaneously painted an abstract painting on canvas with the five colors which were chosen by the composers.
翌年、彼等の曲を題材にした抽象画8点と作曲者と演奏者のイラスト3点を新たに描き、当時宮崎で老舗のギャラリーだった青木画廊で個展を開催しました。会期中、私が最も尊敬するイラストレーターの一人である生賴範義氏も1981年に同画廊で個展を開催していたことを知り、感激しました。
In the following year, I newly painted the eight abstract paintings based on the composers’ works, and the three illustrations of the composers and the musicians. And my solo exhibition was held at Aoki Gallery which was a long-established gallery in Miyazaki at that time. During the exhibition, I was deeply moved by knowing that Mr. Noriyoshi Ohrai, one of my favorite illustrators, too, held his solo exhibition at this gallery in 1981.
初めての個展でしたが、大勢の方に御来場いただき、盛況の内に終えることが出来ました。
Hundreds of people have visited to the gallery, and my first solo exhibition ended a success.
